We support developers, architects, and contractors in navigating complex local regulations for large-scale development projects.InterAgency is seeking a full-time Project Manager to join our Commercial Permitting team. The Project Manager will work under the supervision of the Senior Project Management Team to support clients throughout the permitting lifecycle. This role involves initiating, tracking, and coordinating construction permits for large-scale new development projects in the District of Columbia and surrounding jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and submit permit applications via online portals to regulatory agencies across the D.C. Metro regionCommunicate directly with agency officials to confirm submittal requirements, verify processes, follow up on application statuses, and resolve permit-related issuesSchedule and participate in meetings with agency representatives and clients as neededTrack and manage permit applications through all review stages, ensuring timely responses to comments and required revisionsConduct quality control (QC) reviews on client-provided permit documents prior to submissionIdentify potential permitting risks and schedule impacts, and collaborate with Senior Project Managers to develop mitigation strategiesRespond promptly to client inquiries via email and phone, maintaining a high level of customer servicePrepare project updates, reports, and presentation materials for client meetingsProvide regular internal updates on permit status and contribute to team meetings and project planning discussionsQualification Requirements:Minimum QualificationsExperience: At least 5 years of project coordination within the construction, permitting, engineering or related industries.Education: Associate degree or equivalent work experienceSkills: Strong organization, communication, and project management skillsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related fieldExperience coordinating with municipal or regulatory agencies within the DC-metro areaFamiliarity with permitting software or online submission portalsPhysical Requirements:Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing.
