Advanced Cardiac Care Graduate Nurse

Interventional Radiology/Cardiology RN

The Interventional Radiology/Cardiology RN provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing invasive interventional procedures. This role works collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. The focus is on ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The RN utilizes the nursing process and established standards of care, policies, and procedures. May be on call for the Interventional Unit as needed. Responsible for reporting to the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or RN Team Leader.

Administer medications as ordered, including anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast, and emergency drugs.

Verify ASA classification and consult anesthesia when appropriate.

Assist physicians during interventional and catheter-based procedures.

Prepare and organize sterile instruments and anticipate physician needs.

Document procedural details accurately and communicate real-time findings to the team.

Assist with patient preparation and positioning as well as connecting monitoring equipment.

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

At least three years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab preferred.

Experience with conscious sedation training and monitor role.

Ability to provide care for patients' age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial wellbeing.

Bilingual candidates and/or those who speak English and Spanish are preferred.
