Job Description

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

Responsibilities

Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).

Evaluate donor reaction(s) as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.

Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance, including donor safety and eligibility.

Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.

Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.

Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

Qualifications

High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.

Licensed LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.

Current CPR and AED certification.

Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Complete FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage range: $23.04 - $31.68. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, short‑ and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, volunteer time off, company holidays, wellness benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time annually, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
