Dietitian - Nutrition Therapy

Summary Provides clinical nutrition services to inpatients and/or outpatients, including: assessment of individual nutritional status, evaluation and recommendation of appropriate dietary interventions to improve nutritional status, and education of patients and parents as indicated. Adapts these diets to the patient’s medical condition, lifestyle and preferences, evaluates achievement of learning objectives and provides appropriate follow‑up.

Collaborates with the Food Service department to provide nutritionally appropriate menus, food options, and services for patients.

Collaborates with physicians, nursing, pharmacy and other healthcare team members/departments to determine, coordinate, and provide medical nutrition therapy.

Education and Certification Requirements Masters (Required)Dietitian/Nutritionist License (ND LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), Registered Dietitian CDR Certification (CDR) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

Additional Job Information Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Required Work Experience Two (2) years' clinical nutrition experience with, at least, one (1) year in specialty area required.

Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) or Certified Specialist in Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition (CSPCCN) or Certified Specialist in Pediatrics (CSP) or CDR Advanced Practitioner (AP) or other certification from ASPEN; CDR or other nutrition credentialing agency.A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required for those individuals that are registered or have established eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians on or before December 31, 2023.A minimum of a master’s degree is required for those seeking eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians for the first time, on or after January 1, 2024.
