Technology Media Senior Reporter

Versant is hiring a Technology Reporter to cover Musk‑led companies and related technologies. The role is based in San Francisco and requires a hybrid work model with a minimum of three days per week in the office. Break news and deliver exclusive reporting on Musk‑led companies and related technologies

Develop deep sourcing across industry, regulatory, investor, and technology circles

Move quickly and flexibly when news happens and succinctly distill that for the audience

Produce analytical stories that connect technology developments, business news, and market impact

Collaborate with CNBC reporters and editors to deepen coverage and enterprise reporting

Translate complex technological and regulatory developments into clear, accessible journalism

Significant experience covering technology, markets, or corporate power at a major news organization

Proven ability to break scoops and deliver agenda‑setting journalism

Strong understanding of technology sectors such as AI, autonomy, aerospace, and manufacturing

Experience cultivating sources across industry, government, and investment communities

Excellent news judgment and the ability to distinguish signal from hype

Familiarity with capital markets and venture ecosystems

Comfort interpreting technical concepts, financial disclosures, and policy frameworks

Experience delivering sharp, compelling stories on television
