Onboarding Specialist Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Employment Type: 6+ Months contract
Pay rate : $26.00/hourly
Hybrid – 3 days a week in office. Days are flexible. (The Onboarding & I-9 Compliance Coordinator plays a critical role in delivering a seamless and compliant onboarding experience for all new hires while ensuring strict adherence to federal employment eligibility requirements. This role partners with HR, business leaders, and risk teams to support pre-hire and post-hire processes, ensuring all onboarding and I-9 activities are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with regulations.
Facilitate end-to-end onboarding from pre-employment through post-hire, ensuring a smooth and positive new hire experience
Escalate complex onboarding or compliance issues to HR, managers, or relevant stakeholders
Utilize HR systems such as Workday and ServiceNow for onboarding workflows and case tracking
Coordinate with HR, IT, Security, and Training teams to ensure new hires receive required system access, equipment, and onboarding resources
Support provisioning requests including system access, equipment setup, and onboarding logistics
Ensure new hires are successfully connected to training programs and onboarding schedules
1–3 years of experience in HR, onboarding, compliance, or administrative support (preferably in a regulated environment such as BFSI)
- Experience with HR systems such as Workday, ServiceNow, or similar HRIS platforms
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital workflow tools
- Prior experience supporting high-volume onboarding or HR operations
HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP are a plus
