The Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) will be responsible for providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. Performs preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate proper patient care. Will collaborate with all members of the caregiver team to provide exceptional care and compassion to our patient population and the families that we serve.Exceptional Skills and QualificationsCertified Surgical First Assist from NBSTSA requiredGraduation from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program OR graduation from an NCCT-authorized school with completion of a GED or high school diploma. Graduates of a Military Training Program in Surgical Technology that is not accredited must provide a copy of a DD214 stating the base where the program was completed and a graduation certification.Current Surgical Technologists with an associate degree or higher in another field and have completed at least 120 surgical cases within the last four years and have completed 30 continuing education credits within the last two years may also be considered.1 year of Operating Room experience preferredStrong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skill are requiredDemonstrates ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task with a high degree of responsibility, responsivenessTakes direction well but also self directed and motivatedAt Community Health Network, we build teams that deliver exceptional care through empathy, communication and collaboration.
