The UGE Lineman is responsible for performing diversified work related to the construction and maintenance of underground power lines from plant/station to meter base, auxiliary facilities, and equipment for the distribution of electricity. Responsibilities include driving truck to jobsite and maintaining truck stock, providing the needed services for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the customer's electrical distribution system, understanding and performing switching procedures to isolate and insulate, splice, and terminate underground power lines following proper safety procedures, setting and working on underground transformers and other devices, properly phasing and marking/tagging underground equipment, providing connecting and disconnecting, installing and removal, and moving and transferring of various electrical devices on customers facilities, keeping abreast of all changes in records, reports, and related information affecting this position, investigating consumer complaints and making repairs to energized electrical distribution lines, being responsible for all personal actions and any personnel, vehicles, or equipment in their care, custody, or control, reporting all personal and vehicle accidents/incidents immediately to supervisors, cooperating and assisting in the investigations of the same, setting a good example for less experienced employees by always following and teaching safe practices, and performing other duties as required and/or assigned.

Minimum high school diploma, or equivalent. This job operates in a field environment. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
