Production EngineerChord Energy is seeking an innovative, results oriented, and process driven petro-technical professional to join our team. This individual will be responsible for maximizing production and profitability of oil and gas properties through assessing the associated costs and estimating the production capabilities and economic value of oil and gas wells. The position reports to the Production Engineering Manager and is based in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.Essential Job FunctionsActively practice and support company EHS and operating policiesMonitor daily production for variances. Minimize deferred production and reduce operating expenses by working closely with the production teamWitness teardown of failed artificial lift equipment and work with vendors to enhance equipment designs to reduce failure frequency and maximize productionIdentify root cause of failures and recommend improvementsWork with chemical specialist and chemical providers to ensure protection and optimized execution of chemical treatments of artificial lift wellsMaintain artificial lift information databases including written documentation and tracking of failuresApply statistical models, including survival analysis and run-life cohort comparisons to evaluate artificial lift performance, support equipment selections, and quantify the value of operational practicesDevelop and maintain equipment design and selection models informed by well history and environmentUtilize XSPOC software to identify wells that need intervention or assistance and proactively work towards optimization of all wellsAbility to work in fast paced agile environment and iterate quickly on data driven solutionsTravel to Chord's field locations in ND required 1-2 times per quarter, but primary office is in Houston, TXEngineer expected to be on-call nights and weekends for workover questions from field staffCandidate needs a coachable mindset and a commitment to continuous improvementThis job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position.
