As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer 2, you will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve quality, reduce risk, and strengthen manufacturing processes. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex challenges, drive supplier performance, and help ensure Gulfstream delivers the world's finest aircraft.What You Will DoLead supplier quality initiatives to improve performance, reduce scrap, enhance process capability, and strengthen overall supplier health.Manage supplier compliance through system, process, and product audits while ensuring adherence to quality system requirements and regulatory standards.Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, ensuring timely and effective root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and sustained results.Partner with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and suppliers to identify risks, resolve quality concerns, and implement long-term improvements.Assess supplier quality management systems, personnel, equipment, and manufacturing processes against applicable quality standards.Develop supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and risk assessments to support data-driven decision making.Lead supplier quality reviews and performance discussions, providing clear communication and updates to senior leadership.Support special process suppliers and manufacturing operations involving heat treating, welding, chemical processing, coatings, NDT, composites, additive manufacturing, and other controlled processes.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members while supporting cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.What You Will BringBachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Sciences, Quality Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Two years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment, repair station, or aerospace-related operation.Experience in supplier quality, quality assurance, quality systems, process oversight, or manufacturing quality engineering.Strong understanding of quality management systems, auditing, risk assessment, and corrective action methodologies.Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements such as AS9100, Nadcap, AMS specifications, FAA regulations, or comparable manufacturing quality systems.Familiarity with special processes including heat treating, welding, chemical processing, coatings, NDT, composites, additive manufacturing, or similar controlled manufacturing environments.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards.Experience collaborating effectively with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues and drive performance improvements.Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or APQP principles preferred.ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), FAA designee experience, or A&P License is highly desirable.Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.Opportunity to influence supplier quality performance across a world-class aerospace manufacturing network.Exposure to advanced aerospace technologies, special processes, and complex engineering challenges.Career growth opportunities with an industry leader known for quality, safety, and excellence.Apply NowIf you're ready to leverage your quality engineering expertise to strengthen supplier performance, reduce risk, and drive operational excellence, we encourage you to apply today. Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems, or a related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 2 years technical related experience in a manufacturing environment or repair and overhaul facility. Position Purpose:The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for addressing all quality performance concerns. The SQE works with suppliers to monitor the effectiveness of their Quality Management System and partners with key stakeholders such as Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to continuously improve supplier performance (increase lifecycle, reduce scrap, improve manufacturing/repair processes). This position requires skills that would enable the SQE to drive major Quality improvement projects across functions with minimum supervision.Performs all tasks in area of responsibility in a timely manner to support the supplier quality/inspection system. Ensures all aspects of the delivered/finished article is manufactured in accordance with approved quality system requirements and is certified as compliant to type design requirements or compliant with in-service limitations for Repair Station activities. Manages the compliance of supplier performance through the application of system, product and process audits in accordance with company policy and federal regulations. Certifies a supplier or assesses supplier quality system, personnel, processes and equipment as required. to the applicable quality standards. Coordinates quality assurance program plans, monitors and modifies audit schedules, evaluates acceptance test programs, and quality engineering requirements of Gulfstream suppliers. Promotes the use of continuous improvement techniques and APQP principles at Suppliers to help them reduce variability and achieve process control.Develops key metrics and score card measures that accurately depict supplier health from a risk and performance perspective. . Oversees completion of assigned tasks of subordinate level Quality Engineers within functional groups. . Capable of leading quality focus meetings to address supplier performance and to communicate progress to senior leadership. .An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License may be used in combination with four years of related experience (in addition to the experience requirements below in lieu of the degree requirement. Quality Control System Requirements; knowledge of manufacturing/fabrication techniques and processes. Computer literate; capable of working within the various software applications utilized throughout the enterprise. Experience in a Supplier Quality capacity highly desirable. Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles (certification preferred).
