The Estimator will review construction plans and specifications and perform detailed takeoffs and by item counts of all materials required. Based on take-off and communication with material suppliers and use of manufacturers' pricing programs, the Estimator will prepare bids for release to mechanical contractors. This role requires a technically-minded, process-oriented individual with attention to detail, good communication, organizational and computer literacy skills.

Maintain friendly, cooperative relations with customers, vendors, company personnel and management.

• Perform other tasks or assignments as delegated by the Senior Estimator.
• Organize personal schedule to maximize productivity and time management.
• Follow all Company personnel policies and procedures.
• Cultivates new business through existing business relationships and former customers.
• Prepares accurate detailed take-offs by item counts of all materials required for projects assigned; Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of assigned estimates to mechanical contractors based on take-off and communication with material suppliers and use of manufacturer's pricing programs.
• Ensures that estimates are priced with an estimated gross profit consistent with the necessary profit objectives of the Company as communicated by Senior Management.
• Estimates the time and resources necessary to complete bids and communicates this information to the Senior Estimator so that the bid plan is as accurate as possible.
• reviews results periodically with the Senior Estimator.
• Communicates with Sales Persons and Customers on a daily basis.

High school diploma

~4 years work experience in similar field or College Degree preferred

Ability to read blueprints and project specifications to accomplish accurate take offs.

• Computer skills, including work with various estimating programs, Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Bluebeam (digital take offs).
• Experience and knowledge of HVAC industry a plus.
• Previous technical experience or qualified training.
