Positions will be filled at the following Minnesota Correctional Facilities (MCFs):
Cloud (1.0 FTE)
These positions provide comprehensive restorative and preventative dental care for incarcerated individuals. Takes dental histories of all patients upon admission in order to determine extent of care needed.
Examines patients and administers tests so that dental malfunctions are discovered.
Performs oral surgery as required in order to remedy dental malfunctions.
Instructs dental assistants so that oral care can be provided to the patient.
Orders laboratory examinations and analysis, x-rays, and specific medication so that complete dental care is provided.
Keeps records and makes reports in order to document patients' dental progress.
Supervises qualified dental staff in order to deliver efficient service to patients.

~ Current licensure from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry to practice dentistry in Minnesota.

Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of general dentistry.
Skill in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of dental diseases and injuries.
Considerable knowledge of recent developments in the field of general dentistry and the characteristics and usages of modern drugs.
Ability to establish and maintain a dental clinic environment.
Ability to supervise dental assistants and dental therapists in clinical dental practice.
The selected finalist is required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position. The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
