Industrial Sewer - Short-term

Industrial Sewer
This role operates industrial sewing machines to assemble and sew filtration materials in a manufacturing environment. You will measure, cut, and inspect materials to ensure accuracy and quality, perform basic machine maintenance, and support efficient production workflows. The position requires strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to meet production goals in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities

Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble and sew filtration materials according to production specifications.
Measure, cut, and prepare textiles and filtration materials accurately before sewing.
Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality, dimensional, and specification requirements.
Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on sewing machines to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
Handle and organize various fabrics, textiles, and industrial-grade materials safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace safety procedures.
Meet or exceed daily production goals while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
Follow work orders, production schedules, and product specifications to complete assigned tasks correctly and on time.
Perform repetitive tasks with consistent precision and productivity throughout the shift.
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support an efficient workflow and consistent product quality.
Apply quality control and inspection techniques throughout the production process to identify defects and take corrective action as needed.
Essential Skills

Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines in a manufacturing or production environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting work orders, production schedules, and product specifications.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate stitching, measurements, seam placement, and adherence to specifications.
Experience measuring, cutting, and handling various textiles and filtration materials.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy, speed, and productivity.
Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and maintaining sewing equipment.
Comfort standing for extended periods and lifting materials up to 50 lbs.
Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise sewing and material handling.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work area.
Reliable attendance and consistent ability to meet daily production goals.
Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection techniques to identify and resolve defects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in production or general labor roles in a manufacturing setting.
Demonstrated ability to maintain focus and quality over long production runs.
Experience working with industrial-grade materials and filtration products.
Comfort using basic hand tools and equipment related to sewing and material preparation.
Proactive approach to identifying equipment issues and reporting or addressing them promptly.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, KY.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
