Missouri Baptist Medical Center Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) II to join its laboratory team as a Generalist . This is an excellent opportunity for a certified laboratory professional who enjoys working in a collaborative hospital environment and performing a broad range of laboratory testing.

Schedule Full-time

Night Shift

1830-0700 (3 12-hour shifts per week)

Weekend and holiday rotation required

Qualifications Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related laboratory science field

MLT (ASCP), AMT, or equivalent certification preferred/required

Strong generalist laboratory skills and commitment to quality patient care

Ability to perform testing across multiple laboratory disciplines in a fast-paced hospital environment

News & World Report ranked the hospital #2 in the St. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) II (REG) performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Demonstrates good laboratory practice

Responsibilities Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.

Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.

Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Monitors quality control performance and corrects any problems and or reports any problems to the appropriate department.

Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results. Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.

Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
