Facility Location:

The Training Specialist IV reports to the Manager of the IDD and PASRR Training and Curriculum Development Unit. The Training Specialist IV works under supervision, with some latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The Training Specialist IV provides training to Local Authority staff and others on the Pre-admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) processes. May present in virtual classroom, small classroom settings, or large conference venues. The training specialist will also assist with the development of curriculum and other training materials as requested. Researches and analyzes the PASRR process and guidelines in order to successfully present course materials. Uses adult learning techniques to impart knowledge. Some travel to locations across Texas to provide training is expected. Ensures appropriate curriculum and materials are available for training sessions. Ensures that materials and equipment are ready and available prior to teaching 10%

Facilitates training sessions and workshops for agency customers using professional presentation skills. Interfaces with external and internal customers, representing the agency in a professional manner. Develops training materials and submits requests and/or suggestions to team leads or manager for training improvements including curriculum changes. Assists curriculum leads in the creation and/or modification of training materials as requested. Reviews and edits materials as requested. Maintains documentation and notes to carry out training assignments. Maintains and completes all requested training reports, including training rosters. Tracks attendee registration, completes travel requests, and other documents. Knowledge of the PASRR process, MI and IDD services, LIDDA and nursing facility programs and processes benefitting individuals with IDD and MI. Knowledge of adult training principles. Knowledge of training procedures and techniques; of learning management and learning content management systems; Skill in assessing changes in policy, processes, and procedures to identify training material revision needs. Skill in communicating verbally and in writing. Skill in use of computer and Local Area Network, software packages (e.g., Strong writing and editing skills. Skill in oral and written communication, in instructing others, in facilitating workshops, and in the use of a computer and applicable software.

Ability to interpret complex materials and apply the knowledge appropriately. Ability to formulate learning objectives, to develop training objectives, to evaluate the effectiveness of training, to assess training needs, to communicate effectively. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:

At least 2 years of experience working with people receiving intellectual and developmental disability services.

At least 2 years of experience working in the Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) program.
