CPA/Senior Tax Preparer

ProspectBlue has partnered with a mid sized firm in Richmond, VA and is seeking a Tax Senior. The ideal candidate will prepare and reviews complex tax returns and supports client engagements from start to finish. This role supervises and develops junior staff, manages workflow and deadlines, and serves as a key point of contact for clients and managers. Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for corporations / partnerships / individuals / trusts
Research tax issues and draft technical memos and client-ready summaries
Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate them to managers and clients
Assist with responses to IRS and state notices and with tax audits
Support tax provision work, when applicable
Stay current on tax law changes and firm technology and tools
Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of relevant public accounting or corporate tax experience
- Working knowledge of federal and state tax compliance
- Proficiency with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, GoSystem, Corptax, UltraTax) and Excel
- CPA license, or actively working toward it
Master's degree in accounting or taxation
Industry experience in real estate / financial services / technology / etc.
