Registered Nurse - CVICU (Night Shift)

Location: New Jersey

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night 3x12-Hour Shift (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our CVICU team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to cardiac patients requiring intensive care, including those who have undergone surgical procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in CVICU settings and familiarity with advanced cardiac care technologies.

Responsibilities:

Provide nursing care for patients in CVICU, including fresh post-op cardiac cases.

Manage and monitor advanced cardiac devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax.

Administer medications, sedation, and emergency interventions as per protocols.

Perform advanced procedures including chest tube insertion/removal, ventilator management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.

Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and isolation precautions.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

Active NJ or Compact RN license required.

ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications must be current at time of submission.

Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered if initial training in a CVICU was completed.

Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR) is essential.

Proficiency in managing complex medical needs and advanced cardiac care equipment.
