TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637!

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical
Peoria, IL | Acute Care
Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday) | Rotating holidays
Provide direct patient care on a 63-bed surgical acute unit, managing post-operative surgical patients, trauma cases, and overflow medical patients
Perform wound care and dressing changes, manage drains, nasogastric tubes, central lines, IV therapy, TPN, and pain management
Monitor patients on telemetry (Phillips monitors); respiratory therapy manages nebulizers
Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care technicians to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios
Float to units with equivalent level of care as needed; Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
Experience in post-operative patient care strongly preferred
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to recognize when to escalate or seek assistance
Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
Structured unit orientation provided, including preceptor shifts and dedicated education time, setting travelers up for success from day one
~24/7 house supervisor coverage and pre-assigned charge nurses on every shift who do not carry a patient assignment, providing strong leadership support throughout your contract
