The Oncology Registered Nurse plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate oncology care. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering patient care using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and sound clinical judgment.

The Oncology RN functions as a direct caregiver, patient educator, and clinical resource, with responsibilities that include chemotherapy administration, symptom management, patient education, and care coordination. This position reports to the Practice Administrator and works closely with the oncologist and interdisciplinary care team.

Implement, monitor, and evaluate individualized patient care plans

Assess, document, and communicate patient conditions, responses to treatment, and care needs

Carry out and document provider orders accurately in the EHR

Administer hydration, medications, chemotherapy, biologic agents, and blood products per physician direction

Perform routine nursing procedures including IV insertion, port access/flush, infusion pump connections/disconnections, and adverse reaction management

Triage patient phone calls, addressing concerns promptly and escalating when necessary

Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care with the interdisciplinary team

Ensure compliance with OSHA, regulatory, and accreditation standards

biomedical waste, crash cart, refrigerator temperatures, AEDs)

Participate in professional development, continuing education, and policy/procedure development

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and the overall patient experience

Serve as a collaborative, flexible team member in support of OCP’s mission

Strong passion for oncology patients and caregivers

Comfort and proficiency with EMR systems and healthcare technology

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in an oncology or Med/Surg setting, including infusion and chemotherapy administration

Current Florida RN license (BSN strongly preferred)

Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) required within 24 months of hire

Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred

Medical, dental, and vision insurance

Oncology RN experience: Languages required: English and Spanish

Ability to commute to or relocate to Miami, FL 33176 prior to start date
