About Our Emergency Department:

Transylvania Regional Hospital is a critical access hospital located in the beautiful town of Brevard, North Carolina. Our Emergency Department features a 16-bed unit, including 4 vertical chairs. Additionally, we have 4 regular treatment rooms that can be converted into behavioral health rooms. We provide acute care to patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, ranging from chest pain and abdominal pain to broken bones and infections.

Our unit stands out due to the dedication and commitment of our team. We focus on patient care, community involvement, and exceptional patient experiences during emergencies. The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centred care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualised, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
