POSITION OVERVIEW As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for championing supplier food safety, managing material categories, and working with both internal and external partners to ensure the safety of General Mills’ products and processes. You will also have the unique opportunity to impact the plant and the overall ITQ (Innovation, Technology & Quality) function by leveraging your knowledge and skills to provide deep technical expertise, become a leader of global connections, and be recognized as a valued partner for our plant, sourcing, and business teams. The right candidate for this role will leverage strong project management skills, relationship management skills, be results-oriented, and be able to find opportunities for value creation in order to help the company succeed. The projects you manage in this role will provide you with a high level of cross-functional exposure and will accelerate your ability to navigate and influence across our global organization. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop communication and influence skills, a deep technical expertise of food safety and quality, and you will have an exposure to manufacturing environments both inside and outside of General Mills.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide Food Safety Quality leadership and direction through technical mastery in the areas of regulatory compliance, SPC, system capability, sanitation, and food safety risk mitigation, and champion material supplier food safety and regulatory compliance
Manage specific material categories by identifying and reducing supplier food safety and regulatory risk, providing technical category expertise, ensuring specification compliance and assessing supplier performance
Provide food safety, quality and regulatory training with our suppliers and external GMI partners
Provide leadership as needed for global initiatives including but not limited to process improvements, process standardization, and team development
Lead risk assessments and root cause analysis activities for issue resolution
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Packaging, Materials Science, or related field
5+ years of related Food Safety or Quality experiences
Willingness to travel 20-30% of time
Ability to manage cross-platform projects and be comfortable with ambiguity
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, ability to apply engineering principles, and ability to troubleshoot
Strong understanding of product quality, sensory, and food safety
In-plant quality and manufacturing experience

SALARY RANGE The salary range for this position is: $95,300 - $143,200 Annual At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role.
