Graduate Nurse Telemetry RN

The Registered Nurse – Telemetry provides specialized nursing care for adult patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. This role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a telemetry unit. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure patient safety and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. The position requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

M onitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings and respond appropriately to changes in patient conditions.

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.

Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed.

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and deliver patient care.

Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care instructions.

Accurately document all nursing care, observations, and interventions in the electronic health record.

Recognize and respond to emergencies and critical situations with clinical competence.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with infection control policies and protocols.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and team meetings.

Required Qualifications

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a telemetry, step-down, or medical-surgical unit.

Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry equipment.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient assessment skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Telemetry or Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification.

Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Certifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).

Basic Life Support (BLS) (required).

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (required).

Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) (preferred).
