This position will be hired as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) Level II or III depending on experience.

Job Summary: The Mortgage Loan Originator originates mortgage loans for both our in-house portfolio & secondary market, as well as cross sells other bank products. The MLO actively solicits new residential mortgage business and sells Bankers Trust products to meet established loan quality and production goals.

Maintains professional presence with centers of influence and members of referral communities, i.e. realtors, builders, non-profit housing organizations, attorneys, appraisers, and bank colleagues

Maintains and monitors pipeline reports to ensure volume and quality are consistent with the Bank's goals and objectives, policies and procedures

Stays abreast of trends and developments in the local real estate market and competitive environment, as well as changes in rules and regulations

Production Requirements & Cross Selling: Responsible for cross-promotion of all Bankers Trust products and services (including, but not limited to, Retail Banking products)

Maintains minimum production for mortgage loan originations in accordance with Smart Goals

Promotes and delivers quality internal and external customer service

Obtains, verifies and completes required information and documentation necessary for compliance and processing of loan applications

Monitors overall customer interaction and interfaces with all parties involved on each individual loan from application to closing. This includes, but is not limited to, credit counseling to and pre-qualifying potential home buyers

Obtains applications and then partners with processors to ensure complete and compliant loan packages

Responsible for expanding referral networks through marketing and prospecting activities

Education and/or Experience: Mortgage Loan Originator II: College Degree preferred or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience

At least four years of previous mortgage lending experience preferred

Mortgage Loan Originator III: College Degree preferred or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience

At least six years of previous mortgage lending experience required

Active NMLS in good standing without previous regulatory actions on record is required

Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, Rural Development and jumbo guidelines and general underwriting policies and guidelines for all investors and agencies

Knowledge of all Federal and State mortgage regulations, including but not limited to, HMDA, TRID, Reg B, Reg C, Reg Z, and RESPA
