Hospital Phlebotomist Part Time

Reporting to Director of Laboratory Services, this position performs phlebotomy for the purpose of collection of blood samples for clinical laboratory testing. Also performs tasks involving processing of specimens for clinical laboratory testing. Knowledge of routine clerical tasks is important.

Demonstrates knowledge in handling of patients in the following age groups: newborn, pediatric, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, as they relate to the drawing of blood specimens for laboratory testing.

Performs phlebotomy for collection of blood samples.

Demonstrates ability to process specimens for clinical laboratory tests.

Documents collection information.

Performs routine clerical tasks including using the laboratory computer.

Prepares and replenishes materials, supplies and reagents.

Possesses a high school diploma

Minimum Experience/Skills: One (1) year phlebotomy experience in a hospital laboratory preferred

Current California Phlebotomy License
