Part-Time Human Resources Rep I

Performs the day-to-day operations of various departmental functions which include coordinating benefit programs (medical, dental, short term, retirement, workers compensation, COBRA, etc), computer entry and file maintenance, application intake, and new hire employee orientation.
Responsible for responding to all inquiries but not limited to: employee questions, comments, or concerns, FMLA. FLSA, ADA, policies, benefits, and workers' compensation.
Responsible for completing all new hire paperwork; entering information in the payroll system, and with all insurance carriers.
Maintains and updates all personnel files/records, creates new employee files.
Conducts background, DMV driving record checks, and I-9 E-VERIFY; confers with director when issues arise
Develop, new hire orientation presentation; organize all necessary forms, handbooks, policies, insurance information and other orientation documents to be uploaded to NeoGov for new employee onboarding.
Maintains policies, and forms to ensure they are up-to-date and in compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws; updates the Human Resources section of the County Internet and Intranet as needed.
Assists with recruiting process on NeoGov.
Works with the Human Resources Director to prepare department budget and monitor approved budget.
Conducts HR-related analyses and research; prepares related reports
Performs data entry on the designated computer system(s). Enters employee changes, verifies the accuracy of data, utilizes appropriate codes, and works with departments to ensure prompt entry.
Prepares and reconciles various monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.
Maintains all part-time employee insurance waivers in compliance with ACA requirements; works closely with Payroll to keep records up to date.
Coordinates various employee benefit programs. Communicates program details; assists employees in enrollment, changes, and cancellations; assists in the benefit plan renewal process; arranges and conducts information presentations.
Provides employees paperwork for short-term and long-term disability claims, and FMLA leave.
Provides general assistance to the Director
Maintains confidentiality of departmental issues and documentation.
Maintains a current knowledge of applicable laws/regulations & organization’s benefits programs; reads professional literature; attends workshops and training sessions as appropriate.
Maintains a strong communication program for employees
Non-Essential Functions Performs accounts payable duties for the department.
Orders office supplies; prepares packages for shipment; distributes documentation;
Assists the Director of Human Resources in various projects/programs to include employee incentive programs, applicant tracking, etc.
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Education and experience equivalent to an Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources Management or related field, supplemented by two years' experience in benefits and/or Human Resources.
Special Requirements Must possess satisfactory results of a criminal history background check.
Must be able to lift 5-10 pounds. Must be able to operate office and computer equipment; may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
