Royal Caribbean Group’s Supply Chain team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Buyer, Technical Projects, reporting to the Lead Buyer.

This position sources and procures goods/services for projects. Receives requests from content owners/shipboard or shoreside customers and validates specifications/requirements. Seeks and offers alternatives for cost savings and timely delivery of goods/services. Make procurement decisions and recommendations based on price, availability, transportation and delivery schedule. Provides recommendations and analysis of proposed cost savings solutions for customer and management selection.

Liaises with shipboard and/or shoreside personnel, suppliers and logistics to ensure proper ordering and timely delivery of goods and services to operational vessels or projects without interruption.

Monitors supplier performance to ensure consistent service, high quality and low costs of goods/services, and addresses deviations with management.

Prepares and issues purchase orders and change orders for Capital Projects. Obtains all necessary approvals and completes required transportation forms in a timely manner to meet the capital/project needs.

Responsible for researching and resolving issues including delivery failures, delivery discrepancies and invoices in disputes.

Responsible for meeting with customers regularly to provide status updates on open orders.

May travel to visit ships, suppliers or project site for loadings, audits, etc.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred

3-5 years of procurement experience

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities

Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public

Ability to travel domestic and international, up to 20% of the time
