Dental Hygienist - Oral Surgery

In-office | Full-time Akron or Canton, Ohio

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our oral surgery practice. Our hygienists play an integral role in the surgical team and work closely with the oral surgeon to provide exceptional patient care throughout surgical procedures. This position is ideal for a hygienist who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment, wants to expand their skill set, and is interested in becoming an essential part of an oral surgery team.

What You'll Do In this role, you will work alongside the oral surgeon and clinical team while providing both patient care and surgical support, including:

Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures.

Administer local anesthetic in accordance with applicable licensure and practice requirements.

Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and communicate changes in patient status to the surgical team.

Maintain an unobstructed operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, suction, and irrigation equipment.

Prepare, obtain, and inspect sterile and nonsterile surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.

Operate sterilization equipment and follow appropriate infection-control protocols.

Obtain dental radiographs and digital imaging.

What We're Looking For Current dental hygiene license in good standing. Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team. Valid Dental Hygienist license CPR certification Thorough understanding of HIPAA and OSHA policies Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental Hygiene from an accredited program, or the successful completion of a recognized vocational program in dental hygiene Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well with patients of all ages Proficiency in dental software systems Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care
