Location & Shift Details

Location: 100 Grand Street, New Britain, 10126. Shift: Every third weekend and every third holiday.

Job Summary

This therapist performs as a clinically competent practitioner of respiratory care, providing respiratory care to patients with minimal guidance. Responsibilities include therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities affecting the cardiopulmonary system and other related system functions. Administration of oxygen, medical gases, aerosolized medications, positive‑pressure breathing devices, ventilators, and resuscitation devices is performed. Pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments are conducted. An understanding of growth and development principles is used to assess each patient’s age‑specific needs and provide individualized treatments and care. Demonstrates efficiency across clinical and critical care settings, communicating, cooperating, and collaborating with the healthcare team. Participates in additional training and/or certification courses to develop expertise and skills for specialized clinical areas.

Responsibilities

Provide respiratory therapy with minimal guidance to patients.

Perform therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficits.

Administer oxygen, medical gases, aerosolized medications, positive‑pressure breathing devices, ventilators, and resuscitation devices.

Conduct pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments.

Apply growth and development principles to assess age‑specific needs and deliver individualized treatments.

Collaborate with the healthcare team in clinical and critical care settings.

Pursue additional training and certification for specialized clinical areas.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred from an AMA‑approved respiratory program.

Ability to function as a self‑directed team member.

Connecticut state license required.
