Head Of Property Management Operations

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS Redeemer Kansas City is a church of roughly 450 people in Midtown Kansas City. The Church owns a 65,000 square foot building, eight rental properties on Main Street and Westport Road. These facilities and steady growth in attendance has led to a ministry that has grown faster than the systems supporting it.
The Director of Operations builds and runs those systems-finances, facilities, and staff. This is the infrastructure beneath everything else we do, and when it works, most people will never see it. What they will see is a church that is focused and functioning: budgets that are clear, buildings that are ready to be used, and staff that are freed up to serve their ministry. We are building for the church we intend to be in ten years. This role is how we get there.
What You're Walking Into We are in a season of expansion as referenced above; however, this growth requires someone to build and enact new systems. Here is what a potential candidate would be inheriting:
Finances. The church is financially healthy and positioned to fund new ministry initiatives over the coming years. An ideal candidate would be tasked with stewarding that financial position well enough to enable the church to meet and expand ministry goals.
Our building. Most of the church's buildings are old and have a standing list of annual maintenance and large capital projects that are waiting on a plan and a funding sequence.
The school. We open a classical Christian school this fall, fully funded for year one. Beginning in 2027 we will fundraise and build an endowment. That effort will be carried primarily by another staff position, but the operational systems across our church run through you.
Real Estate - rental properties. All eight rental properties are currently leased. An ideal candidate for this position would be able to manage these properties well enough to turn rental income into an engine for funding ministry initiatives.
