Travel RN - Emergency Department

This is a travel position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The unit has 52 beds and a staff of 134 members. During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel provider per pod. For the night shift, the staffing is similar. The average patient ratio is 3:1, with low acuity cases at 5:1, and pediatric cases using team nursing. Typical procedures performed include IV starts and medication administration, sedations, and care for pediatric patients. Candidates should be able to maintain the pace of a fast-moving emergency department. Experience in facilities larger than 52 beds is advantageous. Unit policies require that patients and medications be scanned every time.
