Direct Care Specialist

Do you have a passion for assisting individuals in their transition from homelessness to services and housing? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a contingent (weekends and holidays) Direct Care Specialist! Working contingent as a Direct Care Specialist you will be responsible for the delivery of appropriate services/supports to individuals with co-occurring, severe, and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders. The successful candidate will provide skill building/community living support activities and manage group activities such as cooking, cleaning, and conflict resolution in a challenging, short-term residential environment to transition individuals served from homelessness to housing.

What We Require High School diploma or GED with at least two years of work experience is required. Experience in community mental health or a transitional housing setting is preferred. A commitment of two holidays per year and three shifts per month are required. Youll be required to complete all ISK required trainings per policy.

Working Conditions Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of video display terminal (VDT) for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites.
