Dexcom's legal team is growing and we're looking for an experienced attorney to serve as one of Dexcom's Lead Legal Counsel, Employment. Reporting to the Vice President, Employment, Corporate Governance & Privacy, this role will support employment law for our North America region. You will work with a team of motivated and passionate attorneys and business partners globally and coordinate daily with local human resource leaders to support our growing employee population.You partner closely with Human Resources and business partners to provide day to day counseling, supervise investigations, evaluate legal risks and provide subject matter expertise on a broad range of labor and employment issues, including recruiting and hiring, training, employee management, complex leaves of absences, and HR best practices.You proactively develop, update, and implement employment policies and programs (including hiring practices, performance management, employee relations, internal investigations, terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, compensation, and benefits) to ensure best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations in partnership with the HR subject matter experts.You collaborate with the Human Resources team to generate, update, and implement training on HR and employment law topics.You manage pre-litigation and litigation disputes related to employment matters, including preparing litigation holds and document gathering.You partner with cross-functional teams, to provide strategic, business-oriented employment law guidance for a global organization.You work effectively to utilize outside counsel, as neededYou have a minimum of 8 years of related employment law experience at top-tier law firm and/or in house (preferred).You are recognized as an expert in your field within the organization.You have excellent decision-making skills, practical business judgement, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.You are able to work in person in the San Diego office as required, local within 75 miles is strongly preferred.Learn about our brave #dexcomwarriors community.Growth opportunities on a global scale.Access to career development through in-house learning programs and/or qualified tuition reimbursement.An exciting and innovative, industry-leading organization committed to our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.5-15%Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience. At this level a graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years of related experience.Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs.
