IT SysAdmin

The Systems Administrator I supports the US Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information (DOE OSTI) mission by assisting with the administration, maintenance, and support of mission systems. This role focuses on performing routine systems administration tasks under guidance while developing technical skills. Perform routine vulnerability remediation and software patching tasks following documented procedures.

Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of Windows server-based systems.

Support management of user accounts, privileged access, and group memberships in on-premises and cloud environments.

Assist with deployment and configuration of mission-supporting applications and infrastructure.

Maintain system documentation, inventories, and procedural updates.

1+ years of system administration or relevant IT experience with Windows operating systems.

Foundational knowledge of Windows server environments.

Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft M365.

Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware, Proxmox, or Red Hat Virtualization.

Demonstrated excellent customer service.

Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail and a focus on delivery.

Self-directed, results-oriented, and flexible.
