Phlebotomist (Part-Time) - Phlebotomy

Position Overview

Phlebotomist II – Part‑time (New Orleans, LA). Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM.

Pay range: $20.23+ per hour. Salary offers are based on experience, education, and other factors.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens according to established procedures (e.g., drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams).

Administer oral solutions according to established training.

Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.

Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.

Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information, collecting payments when required, following corporate policies.

Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required).

Perform non‑patient‑facing duties (inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, utilizing email).

Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.

Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.

Maintain appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (e.g., maintenance logs, temperature logs).

Complete online and in‑person training courses on schedule.

Qualifications

Three years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).

Keyboard/data entry experience.

Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.

High‑school diploma or equivalent.

Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Ability to effectively communicate in English.
