We would love you to join our Supported Living Services team! As a Sr. Community Support Companion, you will have more than just a job - you will have the opportunity to directly impact someone's life for the better! You will work with individuals in their own homes and surrounding communities. As a Sr. Community Support Companion, you will hire, train and supervise employees who teach and assist clients in building skills necessary to live independently in their own homes. You will oversee Supported Living Services that are provided in the individual's home and in varied community settings in San Fernando Valley.What is Supported Living?Supported Living Services allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes in the community, while developing independent living skills, creating meaningful relationships, and participating as active members in their families and community.ResponsibilitiesYour daily routine can include:Facilitating meaningful community connectionsEstablishing friendshipsExploring and participating in a variety of recreational and educational activitiesTeaching independent life skillsIncreasing helpful, adaptive behaviorsParticipate in client team meetings as requested by ManagementFacilitate and/or carry out quality reviews to ensure the individual is receiving the support he/she requiresAssist in coordination and arrangement of client support schedulesScheduled to be on-call for after hour emergenciesSpend no more than 20% of their working time in carrying out the following duties:Assist management in the development of the individual's Individual Support Plan, and may attend meetings related to the plan.Participate in assisting the new individual set-up his or her apartment and the services to be providedProvide substitute coverage when a Companion is absent as directed by ManagementProvide hands-on training to Companions working with new individualsParticipate in compiling client data and writing reports as directed by ManagementOther dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
