Description:
We are seeking a registered nurse for a medical surgical and telemetry unit focused on oncology.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with adult and geriatric patients.
Common diagnoses include various types of cancer and patients undergoing antineoplastic chemotherapy.
The unit cares for patients from diagnosis through treatment and transition to end-of-life care.
Staffing ratios are aimed at 1:4, but can extend to 1:5 based on unit needs.
Variable weekends based on unit requirements, with no guaranteed set scheduling.
Self-scheduling requests will be utilized to accommodate preferred schedules.
Orientation will involve a mixture of classroom learning and on-unit preceptorship.
Interdisciplinary support is available from physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
Patients will have a daily census averaging 36 individuals.
The unit is equipped with advanced telemonitoring technology and other specialized medical equipment.
Candidates must have current acute care experience in the specialty they are applying for.
Applicants should have experience in managing dysrhythmias and performing blood product administration.
