Assembly Welder, Production Welding

Operate welding equipment using a variety of welding processes and to meet quality standards by performing the following duties.
Ability to weld together fabricated parts of structural metal products in shop; plan sequence of operation.
Obtain specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun; connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer or Welding Technician and be able to set welding machine wire feed.
Ability to start power supply to produce electric current; strike (forms) arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
Ability to lift and position components, manually, using overhead or jib cranes.
Ability to straighten warped or bent parts.
Ability to grind, chip weld splatter, high spot, burr, and rust from surfaces of structure components.
Ability to position work pieces manually or by using overhead or jib cranes. Ability to pull trigger to start power tool and move it over surface of work piece to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burrs.
Ability to load trucks.
Move assembly to storage area; Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.
Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
