Iron Fabrication Services (IFS) is a leading fabricator and supplier of all types of steel used in many major construction projects such as large scale commercial and residential buildings. IFS is seeking a highly skilled Welder to join our team. The Welder is critical to the success of our construction projects.
Welder is responsible for welding structural and miscellaneous steel components according to project specifications. This role requires precision, a strong understanding of welding codes, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced fabrication environment.
Inspection of Fabrication
Perform MIG, and Stick welding on steel components.
Follow shop drawings, welding symbols, and AISC/AWS D1.1 welding codes.
Ensure welds meet project specifications and safety standards.
Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools.
Conduct visual inspections and participate in quality assurance processes.
Work with foreman and QA/QC personnel to resolve welding or fabrication issues.
Collaborate with fabrication teams, foremen, and inspectors to resolve welding issues.
Use the PPE (Personal protective equipment) equipment.
Proven experience as a structural welder (2+ years preferred).
AWS D1.1 welding certification preferred or ability to obtain.
Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints and welding symbols.
Familiarity with standard shop tools, measuring devices, and fabrication equipment.
Commitment to safety and quality.
AWS Certified Welder (D1.Forklift and overhead crane operation certification
