Graduate Nurse - Emergency Nursing

In collaboration with the Registered Nurse Manager (RN), responsible for the routine functioning of the Endoscopy Center. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge. The Charge Nurse is responsible for assisting with the achievement of patient outcomes with the mission of the facility. Provides individualized and specialized nursing care to patients within the endoscopy center in accordance with physician’s orders, recognized nursing techniques, legal aspects of current nurse practice in the State of Georgia and the Center’s policies and procedures. The Charge Nurse is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to patients. Must be self‑directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Quality control checks on Glucometer

Daily infection control logs (room, temp and humidity, refrigerator, scope washroom)

Call in the absence of the Registered Nurse Manager (RN)

Paycom in the absence of Registered Nurse Manager (RN)

Monitor staff levels and understand when to ask for additional staff in the absence of the Registered Nurse Manager (RN)

Balancing patient payment collection with front desk in the absence of Registered Nurse Manager (RN)

Ensure that rooms are stocked and cleaned daily

CMS Date Report

Check Inventory/order supplies

Check stock drugs for expiration

Check Emergency carts for drug expiration

Conduct visual inspection of center and complete infection control/OSHA check list

Fire Extinguisher check

Collaborate with Nurse Manager on quarterly task

Hand washing surveillance

Fire Drill (should be interactive)

Physician Peer Review

Non Physician chart review

A minimum of 2 years hospital experience. Experience in GI endoscopy and management experience preferred. Current State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Georgia. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands
