Registered Nurse Travel Job Telemetry Shift Nights
American Traveler
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Telemetry RN with 2+ years of pediatric cardiac stepdown experience and an OH or compact RN license required.
Requirements
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Minimum 2 years pediatric hospital experience required
Minimum 2 years pediatric cardiac stepdown experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and administration of blood/blood products
Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and ventilator management
Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and post cardiac catheterization care
Skilled in NG tube insertion/management, wound assessment/care, and isolation precautions/PPE
Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations and administration of emergency and antiarrhythmic medications
Two supervisor/manager-titled references required for consideration
Responsibilities
Pediatric Telemetry unit caring for patients with cardiac defects requiring medical and surgical management
Cares for patients with trachs/vents, high flow nasal cannula, post-op cath, post-op CTICU, inotropes, and heart/lung transplant needs
13-week assignment
Day shift (7:00-19:30) or Night shift (19:00-7:00), 3x12-hour shifts
Day/night rotation on a 6-week interval schedule
Every other weekend required
Floating to other units required based on assignment needs
Epic charting system experience required
Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions
Candidates who previously worked permanently at this facility must wait at least 2 years before reapplying
Local candidates are not accepted; a 60-mile radius rule applies
No call/no-show policy strictly enforced
Agency changes upon extension must occur at least 3 weeks before the current contract ends
