Early Childhood Education and Development Teacher
New Beginnings Early Learning
As Head Toddler Teacher at New Beginnings Early Learning Center in Bristol, you'll guide one- and two-year-olds through one of the most dynamic stages of early development. You'll design and deliver responsive, relationship-based learning experiences grounded in CT ELDS and DOTS frameworks, support growing independence and language development, and partner closely with families navigating the toddler years. Utilize DOTS for ongoing assessment and documentation of children's development
Create responsive, relationship-based activities supporting early language, sensory, and motor development
Modify caregiving and teaching strategies to accommodate individual developmental needs
Create and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging indoor and outdoor learning environment
Arrange spaces to facilitate exploration, creative play, and motor skill development
Supervise and support teacher assistants and volunteers
Implement DOTS assessment system to track and document developmental progress
Identify children showing signs of developmental concerns and implement appropriate interventions
Communicate regularly with families regarding child development and daily care
Partner with families to support continuity between home and classroom
Collaborate with teaching team and specialists to support children with special needs
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Support children's development of self-help skills and personal hygiene
Current CDA plus 12 or more ECE credits
Bachelor's degree or higher with an early childhood concentration from a regionally accredited institution
Current Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) Early Childhood Certification Endorsement
Bachelor's degree in early childhood from an OEC Approved College plus a B-level Early Childhood Teacher Credential (ECTC)
Bachelor's degree in any field plus 12 or more credits in early childhood or child development AND successful completion of the B-level ECTC Individual Review Route
Experience with Brightwheel or similar childcare management software
Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
Understanding of child development principles and practices
