Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Rochester, MN, requiring prior NICU experience and at least one year of travel nursing experience.
Details

• Position is based in a hospital NICU setting
• Day/Night rotation shifts available (0700-1930 and 1900-0730)
• Block schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday each week
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

Active MN RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
Current BLS (AHA or American Red Cross) and NRP certifications required; certifications must not expire within 3 months of start date
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
Minimum 1 year of recent NICU RN experience required
Minimum 1 year of travel RN experience required; Rochester MN facilities additionally require at least 2 years of experience and/or 3 total prior travel assignments
Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited); non-accredited graduates must have at least 1 year of RN experience within the last 5 years
COVID vaccination and booster required
Date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
Additional Information

Responsible for coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions
Functions within a professional nursing practice model with accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of patient care
Provides leadership through preceptor responsibilities, informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts
Delegates patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources
May participate in committees or projects and is expected to demonstrate strong mentoring, teaching, and communication skills
The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census
Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
