This assignment offers an opportunity to work in a community-based hospital serving a broad population across Northern New York and nearby Vermont .
Position Highlights
Palm Health is seeking one or two experienced Locum Anesthesiologists to provide full-time or part-time coverage (minimum 2 weeks/month). This is a 100% hospital-based anesthesia role , covering OR and L&D with a mix of surgical cases. OB experience is mandatory - including labor epidurals and emergency C-sections.
You'll join a mid-sized team in a supportive and well-equipped surgical department. Minimal CRNA supervision is required, and healthy pediatric anesthesia is optional but welcomed.
Key Responsibilities

Manage 4-5 surgical cases daily across various specialties
Provide obstetric anesthesia, including unscheduled C-sections
Participate in weekday on-call rotation
Perform regional blocks for OR cases
Collaborate with CRNAs, anesthesia techs, and OR staff
No clinic work - 100% hospital OR and L&D coverage
Case Mix

• Bread-and-butter general surgery
• Ortho, OB/Gyn, ENT, Urology, Plastics, Colorectal, GI
• No cardiac, neuro, or cranial cases
• 700-800 annual deliveries
• Regional blocks required for OR cases
• Peds (healthy only) is a bonus, not required

• Level III Trauma Center
• 9 well-maintained ORs
• EPIC EMR system
• Team includes ~15 MDs and 2 CRNAs
• Supported by experienced OR techs, RNs, and surgical staff

Market-level compensation - negotiable based on commitment
Daily OT after 10 hours
Housing and travel support
Malpractice coverage included
Dedicated credentialing and assignment coordination
Candidate Requirements

MD/DO with active license or ability to obtain
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
Must be comfortable with OB anesthesia (including C-sections)
ACLS & up-to-date immunization documentation required
Clean malpractice and work history preferred
