Ambulatory Care Pharmacist-Pharmacy

Pharmacy ManagerAssists Director of Pharmacy in managing clinical and/or operational activities for patients in acute, ambulatory or outpatient pharmacy areas; supervises/manages pharmacists and technical staff in activities related to delivery of clinical pharmacy services; assists in management of patient transitions to other levels of care; is a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department staff.Manages pharmacists clinical care responsibilities and/or care delivery model to assure effective medication use, appropriate patient drug monitoring procedures, tracking of interventions and staff productivity. Manages accurate and timely reporting process for pharmacist reporting suspected medication adverse events, medication misadventures and pharmacist interventions. Coordinates pharmacoeconomic activities, including but not limited to data gathering, analysis and reporting to result in cost effective therapy and drug cost saving opportunities. Participates in development/presentation of orientation, education, and training programs to the pharmacy, medical, nursing, other staff, and patient groups. Provides professional growth/development of pharmacy staff through identification of needs; encourages education; evaluates staff to ensure competency. Coordinates pharmacy preceptor activities for pharmacy students during their clinical rotations, ensuring educational development in all areas of hospital pharmacy.
