Machinist TechnicianLocation: San Jose, CA 95125Duration: Direct HireShift Timing: Standard ShiftJob DescriptionSet up and operate CNC machines including 4-axis mills and plasma tablesSet up and operate manual machines including lathes and 3-axis millsSelect appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds based on work instructionsPerform complex setups requiring multiple fixtures and work holding strategiesUtilize precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensionsReview and validate blueprints to ensure they are complete and contain all information needed for manufacturingCreate efficient and accurate CNC Programs from provided CAD filesPerform modifications and retrofits to existing parts & toolsSupport tool and test engineers during tooling fabrication, assembly, functional and testingInterface with internal and external machine/fabrication shopsQualificationsHigh School Graduate or equivalentExperience with CNC and manual machine setup: loading tools, setting offsets, mounting fixturingProficiency with CAD software (Inventor preferred)Proficiency with CNC programming (Inventor CAM preferred)Proficiency with precision measuring instrumentsMust be able to understand schematics and mechanical drawingsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with various cultures and at all levels of the organizationMust be available to work occasional weekends and nights as required in support of critical project milestonesUnrestricted authorization to work in the United StatesMust pass a background checkPreferred Qualifications/Experience:Minimum of 5 years' experience in machining, manufacturing, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years' experience in Mechanical/Dimensional inspectionsPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift loads up to 50 lbs
