Attorney | Insurance Defense | Remote Work

Our client, a national litigation law firm, is seeking a California-licensed Litigation Attorney to join its growing insurance defense practice on a fully remote, contract-to-hire basis. The attorney will support a casualty defense caseload, including a large toxic tort matter, and assist with all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment and discovery through motion practice and trial preparation.The ideal candidate will be based in California and have at least one year of post-bar civil litigation experience in a law firm, with demonstrated legal research and writing skills and the ability to meet billable hour requirements.ResponsibilitiesConduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda in connection with insurance defense matters, including casualty and toxic tort litigation.Draft and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.Review and analyze case materials, discovery responses, and evidence to identify legal and factual issues and support case strategy.Draft substantive motions and assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit preparation, and pretrial filings.Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on the management of active litigation matters.
