Key Responsibilities
Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
Manage a full hand therapy caseload within an outpatient orthopedic and hand therapy setting, including fabrication of splints.
Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities.
Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs as assigned, including supervision, learning objective development, and student evaluations.
Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and regulatory requirements, and actively pursue continuing education and professional development.
Required Qualifications
Active Occupational Therapist licensure in good standing in the state of Florida.
Demonstrated experience in outpatient orthopedic and hand therapy.
Proficiency in splint fabrication and management of a full hand therapy caseload.
Ability to complete thorough clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential.
Experience participating in clinical student programs and providing supervision and mentorship.
