Journeyman Electrician - Night Work

Journeyman electricians are responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. They work with blueprints to figure out how the systems are supposed to work. Then, they use that information to troubleshoot electrical problems and come up with solutions for them. A journeyman electrician needs to have a deep familiarity with various types of electrical systems, fixtures, and components. They have to be able to repair electrical uses with a variety of tools and techniques. Their work also requires them to follow OSHA safety requirements and to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and platforms. To qualify for this role, an individual needs to have completed an electrician apprenticeship. They also need to have a valid driver’s license, as journeyman electricians typically drive themselves from job site to job site.

Working Conditions

• Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary
• Must have the ability and be willing to travel extensively, as required for job related functions
• Must be able to work out of market or away from home as work demands

Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities:

Drive yourself to our job sites and assess their electrical systems

Read and interpret electrical blueprints

Use a variety of tools and techniques to repair and maintain electrical systems

Use your knowledge to determine the best way to install new electrical systems

Answer any questions that our customers may have about their electrical systems and components

Ensure that you follow all safety requirements and OSHA guidelines while you work

Journeyman Electrician Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver’s license

Formal electrician training

Ability to use a wide variety of electrician tools and techniques

Ability to interpret electrical blueprints and schematics

Strong customer service skills
