Physician-Pediatric Physiatrist (Physician )

This position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices. In addition, the role includes consulting, educating, and training patients, families, and caregivers, and collaborating with care teams and stakeholders to deliver quality, patient-centered care.

The position is for a pediatric physical therapist scheduled for three (3) 10‑hour shifts per week: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The role also includes rotating Saturday and holiday coverage and assistance with additional coverage for other physical therapists when patient care needs arise. Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and abides by service standards.

Provides skilled physical therapy services, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups. Conducts evaluations and treatments according to professional standards (APTA), considering diagnosis, history, and physician referrals, and develops care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments.

Keeps thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies. Completes patient billing accurately and promptly.

Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals. Ensures smooth operations and optimal use of rehabilitation services.

Manages all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students to ensure high-quality care.

Engages in quality improvement processes, including safe equipment use, improving clinical outcomes, patient access, patient experience and all aspects of the Intermountain Operating Model. Contributes to program development and marketing strategies to grow the physical therapy program and achieve department goals.

Current Physical Therapist license in the state(s) where the candidate will work.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Basic computer skills.

Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, especially during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation, medication preparation, and other tasks. Expected to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including items weighing up to and including heavy items. Ability to walk, assist with transporting/ambulating patients, and distribute supplies and equipment. Includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, often in crowded and busy rooms. Primary Children’s at Lehi, Lehi, Utah

30 weekly hours (three 10‑hour shifts per week). Hours: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Also Saturday and holiday rotation. Flexible coverage as needed.
