Direct Support Professional (DSP)We are hiring dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a Day Program or a community-based setting. As a DSP, you will help individuals with their daily routines, promote independence, and ensure a safe and supportive living environment. This is a meaningful opportunity for compassionate individuals seeking to grow in healthcare.Available Shifts:Day Shift: 8:30 AM-3:30 PMDay Shift: PRNKey Responsibilities:Provide person-centered support: Facilitate community integration: Accompany and support individuals during community outings, volunteer opportunities, and social engagements to promote independence and social inclusion.Support daily activities: Assist with daily routines such as meal preparation, feeding, toileting, hygiene, and mobility while encouraging maximum independence.Support individuals in developing and enhancing skills related to communication, self-care, vocational training, and social interactions.Monitor and document progress: In accordance with regulatory and agency requirements, maintain accurate daily documentation of participation, behaviors, incidents, and progress toward goals in the Therap platform.Ensure safety and well-being: Implement safety protocols and provide supervision to ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.Implement behavior support plans: Follow strategies and interventions as outlined in each individual's behavior support plan to address and manage behavioral needs.Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, clinicians, and families to coordinate support and report concerns or changes in condition.Support each individual's rights, dignity, and choices and advocate for their needs and preferences.Comply with policies and regulations: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, documentation, training, and ethical standards, as well as District of Columbia regulations and credentialing requirements.Human services or psychology students seeking hands-on experience.Candidates with experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.LPN or RN students looking for patient care experienceMedical Assistant students or Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs)Individuals with experience in nursing homes, assisted living, or home healthcareDedicated individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.Requirements:High school diploma or GED (required)Must be 18 years or olderSpeak EnglishStrong communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamAbility to lift, transfer, and physically support individuals as neededValid Driver's License and reliable transportation (required for some sites)Certifications & Screenings:CPR & First Aid Certification (required)Medication Administration Training (preferred or provided)Crisis Prevention/Intervention Training (preferred)Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (required)Must pass national and state criminal background checksMust complete TB/PPD test and physical examSubject to DMV screening and random drug testingWhy Join Our Team:$750 Sign-On Bonus for New HiresCareer Growth – Gain experience in the healthcare and human services fieldMeaningful Work – Directly impact lives in your communitySupportive Team – Work in a positive and inclusive environmentComprehensive Training ProvidedHow to Apply:Team members are expected to check and respond to communications regularly:EmailText MessagePaylocity (company HR and communication platform)Apply today and join a team that's making a difference every day.
